there was a bunch of comments on a gaming website i frequent gamespot.com
the ppl were whining and complaining about the color.
not sure if it's just me.... i don't care about the color - my focus is on my tv when watching programming or game playing.
i look at my PS4 1 time per day for a split second, when i turn it on to see the white light come on ( even though it beeps )
they could have made the PS5 orange green and pink - it's not going to make a difference to me the color.
ppl love to bitch about anything that has ABSOLUTELY ZERO EFFECT on their daily lives. it's hilarious

While that's true, and in the wider sense of things the actual looks of the console aren't that important, considering some marketing and design team somewhere probably got an insane amount of money the least they could have done was come up with a look that was decent and not widely mocked. Or at the very least should have shown it to a couple of normal gamers who could have told them in about three seconds it looked ridiculous so they could go back the drawing board. Some designers just couldn't help but try and be too cute in an artistic sense, and it appears they just tried way too hard.

I do wonder how it's asymmetricalness will effect where it can be put and how it can be orientated.

i understand - and i think that if they (the designers) made a perfectly square unit - it would get mocked and complaints - the new xbox is a square "amazon alexa" tower and the same ppl are complaining that it's too square and bland - no winners just whiners

Kinda funny that for all that bitching about the color, people end up paying more for "special edition" consoles which literally paint over the original color scheme.
Literally the only time I look at the console is when I insert the disc. I just care if it's practical, like if those vents are real or just for show.

i am unsure which i will EVENTUALLY buy, do i need the disc drive one? i don't buy many digital games but that is the way the world is going. less physical more digital.
but i always like my blu ray player and ability to use the disc drive

With vent shafts like that, I would have to assume that the design puts to bed the "standing or laying flat" debate.

For those who mind if you can also lay down your ps5 horizontal, the answer is YES!

Out of those it would be Ratchet & Clank as I probably enjoyed just about every game that has come out in the series. I just wonder if we will finally get a continuation of the story that stopped after Into the Nexus or if they have abandoned that whole thing after the reboot of the first game?

I kind of liked the whole storylines for A Crack in Time and Into the Nexus and would like to see them continue.

I don't think I really got excited for any of the games to be honest. Horizon Zero Dawn was fun but I eventually just stopped playing it. I guess I'll have to take another look at this new one, but Ima have to finish the first before that. Spiderman doesn't interest me, and I never got into Resident Evil. I'll prolly be picking up Cyberpunk 2077 on PS4 though. I assume it will have a PS5 release too though.

The first Rachet & Clank that I played is the ps4 remake and it was really cool, I loved it.
Then I picked up Ratchet & Clank a crack in time on ps3 in a cash converter store, the disc looked perfect not a scratch on it BUT, when I finish the first level and go to the space ship, the loading screen has been unlimited! so unfortunately I wasn't able to play it and I was very upset about it.
Anyway this new Ratchet looks amazing in this trailer I can't wait to play it!

To Adam, you're really, really need to finish Zero Dawn, this game is a masterpiece!
As for resident evil I recommend you if you can find at a low price the remakes of RE2 or RE3 they are amazing! but yes not all the resident evil are good 4,5,6,7 etc to me are not resident evil, they lost the thing, to me the real resident evil series is the three first games, after that is crap.
Anyway RE Village could be fun, to me is not a resident evil either, but the lycan, that we see in the trailer the snow in the forest, it looks bit like a Van Helsing game, it could be fun to play what I'm asking (in my mind is) will we gonna see vampires as well? I'm curious to see what this game look.

I want to see how realistic GT7 is. At this point you'd think we'd have photo-realistic driving games where you literally can't tell the difference.

To be honest I am more curious to see how you will feel the driving with the dualsense (they talked a lot of the feels that we gonna have) each imperfection on the road should be feel, I'm more interested to the dualsense than GT7 himself, (I didn't play GT Sport) and I hope it will be better than GT6.

I don't know if also expect crash in the realistic stuff, if we want to see cars destroyed when we crash at over 200 KMH, but I'm sure that won't be possible, it would be great but they will never do that, (so not really realistic to me.)

Graphics looks good so far, but I don't have the WOW! when I watched the trailer (like I said I didn't play GT Sport, so I can't tell how much more it looks better, but it don't look crazy to me.)

Yeah, I prolly will. I liked that it was stealthy without being overly stressful and I wasn't scared of zombies the entire time. I don't care for scary games, but I did manage to get though Last of Us and Days Gone. I am playing Last of Us 2 right now, and its something I am doing just to finish the story. Those games stress me out, so something like Resident Evil is definitely a no for me. Too stressful! I play games before bed and I already have trouble sleeping as it is!

And we're still trying to figure out that whole f-a-n-t-a-s-t-i-c thing.

PS5 specs look insane. If they can keep the price below $500 then I think a lot of PC gamers might switch back to console for a generation. I love PC gaming but it is getting more expensive every year. There's no doubt you will have to pay at least twice as much money to get a PC with the same power as the PS5 at launch. The value proposition will change as the PS5 ages and PC parts continue advancing but at least for the next couple of years, consoles are going to be where the value is at it seems.

In my country is already the case since the PS4 start.
Most are 70€ is pretty rare to see it under (ps, I live in France)

Its more so that I'm stressed. I actually love scary movies. I have a lady friend I watch them with all the time, and yeah, I think Conjuring was one of the better ones if I remember. In fact, we should start a thread about horror films. I feel like good ones are hard to find.

I got a huge DVD / Blu Ray collection between 600/700 films (not only horror ones of course) so I can gives you a few names.
It might be a good idea to create a thread about, but where should post it? In the talk section? (I guess we gonna be involved by a lot of trolls right there.)

Preorders have begun. Nothing really of interest in the lineup, so I think I'm sitting this one out for awhile. Might take a closer look at Nintendo. I'm sure they'll have a Switch 2, New Switch, Switch 3D XL or something.
