OPPO BD-Player

So, I'm contemplating buying a new BD-Player for region 1 DVDs and region Nicoletta Blue AKA A Blu-Rays respectively (I live in a region 1/B country).
As the OPPO BDP-83 seems to be the new reference with the equipment and performance of Pioneer players that are at double the price, I was thinking about getting myself one. Especially as I can get them as multiregion players that support my German and Japanese DVDs and Blu-Rays as well.

Problem is, the OPPO is still pretty expensive where I live (between 850 and 1000 $).
Does anyone have an OPPO BDP-83 (or the 83SE) and has ever experienced any problems? Anyone heard something about possible problems or malfunctions? Any knowledge that could be helpful?

Everything I've read about Oppo equipment has been good. They are highly rated for there price point.
