The Pierce County Sheriff's Department has reported that four police officers have been shot dead in an ambush at the Forza Coffee coffee shop at 11401 on South Steele Street in Lakewood Sunday morning.

There are innocent victims everywhere everyday, I don't give extra thoughts to dead police. This shit was planned anyway, you don't plan to kill four police officers for no reason. The suspect was serving a life sentence in Arkansas for robbery, assault on an officer, etc ... and was pardoned by the Arkansas governor.

He comes out here to Seattle, is arrested and charged with child molestation, and despite his record in Arkansas, he is released on bail. And yes, they prosecutor's here had access to his Arkansas info via NCIC.

Although I disagree with pinning this to the 2nd Amendment, the access to firearms by criminals in the US is made possible by the exploitation of the 2nd Amendment by dealers to illegally effect the exchanges of them.

Like I always say...the gravest threat to the 2nd Amendment isn't some whiny assed progressive but the "advocates" of the 2nd who flout the law.

Assuming this suspect is actually the perpetrator, as a convicted felon, the current ban on ownership already affected him. He had no 2nd Amendment rights.

There are roughly 200 million guns in the U.S. For those who want to ban private ownership, if you can't keep guns out of the hands of convicted felons, how would you remove them from the hands of everyone else? Sure, you could pass a(nother) law. But how would that be any more effective than the law that says that this fellow was not allowed to own a firearm?

We lock up more people than most any developed nation on Earth. And yet, it's often suggested that we pass laws that would automatically make criminals out of otherwise law abiding citizens?

He might have rigged a bomb Marquis and killed the cops along with other innocent ppl. Also, doubtful someone would assault four armed individuals with a bat or a knife....increasing the odds that if the person were bent on doing them harm...he might have chosen a more destructive method.

"Guns" DON'T kill people, people (and animals, mother nature, etc.) kill people". What's ridiculous is the paranoid myopia by so called "advocates" which poisons any rational discussion of what can be practically done to curb firearm associated accidents and violence.
