I always thought Prince was the most versatile musician until Grohl. Damn that dude is awesome!

What the hell? Not that I am diminishing Grohl's musical talent but I see him nowhere near Prince's musical talent.

Both are great in their respective talents; Prince is just a bit higher. Here is what Prince can play:

just to throw it out there, because I don't know, when was the last time Prince recorded anything that was popular? I know radio stations pretty much play only what the record companies make available to them and Prince had gone indy for a while.

It's better that he isn't on the radio. IMO 99.9% of radio is junk...

I forgot that Prince basically plays every instrument in the studio so the comparison is not a sound one.

I don't know... He wasn't a great drummer. He makes some simple and catchy songs with the foo fighters (I like a handful of 'em) and Probot was ok.

There's far more talented artists out there.

I don't think you can really count "acoustic" and "electric" guitars are being two seperate instruments. Technically, they are, but they're still both guitars and are played in pretty much the same exact way.

But, I think that both Prince and Dave Grohl are incredibly talented. They're just talented in their own way. They play totally different styles of music and I don't think they can really be compared. As much of a talent that Dave Grohl is, I don't think he can be compared to Prince or vice versa.
