i'll just post 5 of the best newer games that i've played. i can't be bothered going back 20+ years and trying to figure everything out.

top 5 best newer games:

demon's souls
killzone 2 (mostly because of it's multiplayer)
left 4 dead parts 1 and 2 (strictly because of it's multiplayer)
call of duty 4: modern warfare/modern warfare 2
fallout 3

honorable mention.....Call of dookie Modern2(ps3)...NFL2k5(xbox)....Splinter Cell series(xbox1)....LittleBIGplanet...metalGEARsolid( ps1)...SyphonFilter series(ps1).....and after playing the demo 500 times I have a hunch GofWAR3 will be on top come March.

2 Uncharted 2 (PS3)
1 FFVII (IX was pretty good too) (PSX)

I've played a lot of PES too, but not good enough to beat these games....
