I own neither system but have a roommate that has both so I think I can give a fairly non-fanboy opinion

Initially I like the 360's controller because it is better suited for bigger hands, but it does start to put a strain in your fingers if you have to use the trigger buttons a lot, so that's where I like the PS3's controller. The PS3 can play BluRay and you can download old PS1 games for really cheap which is a nice plus. The 360 has streaming Netflix but the PS3 will have that soon. The PS3 is also getting more and more better games that I like (RPGs and the like) but in the end they all get pretty much the same games except for the few exclusives. The 360 does have a higher fail rate (Red Ring of Death) and when the fan kicks in, it is louder than shit. The PS3 is very quiet, hardly ever hear it.

Overall they are quite similar, IMO, and to me the PS3 wins but it is barely above a tie. So this whole post probably doesn't help much

To both of you, concerning the controller, yes, I prefer it far more than the PS3. It's ridiculously more comfortable on my gigantic hands. PS3 controller makes my hand feel severely uncomfortable after a few minutes. Therefore, to me, the controller IS better.

fuck forza, gran turismo is a far better franchise. Forza3's backgrounds are nice and all but the game runs like trash,theres alot of pop up. Forza3's cars look like big chunks of lip gloss too. They up the graphics from forza 2 to forza3 but than the machine cant keep up and it runs like shit. 360 games are stuck in a rut,they just arent evolving with the times........I think they need to force themselves into xbox3 or xbox720,whatever it will be called,real soon cause the 360 has nothing left unless you're fine with the same old shit for the next 4 yrs or so. The system is dated already and that sucks for the xbox fanboys who are brainwashed and cant bite the bullet by buying a ps3.They didnt make a machine with enough power to have a long life cycle plain and simple.

And where has Shayd been,havent heard from him on here in ages? He usually loves to chime in on this kinda debate......and knows alot about games too.

For all intents and purposes, they're about the same. Choosing one over the other is like choosing one of the Apple Twins and not the other. Whichever one you choose, the other is an equal if not better alternative.

Neither system is better or worse than the other. Both systems have their pros and cons. If you want a great game system as well as a great Blu-Ray/DVD player then go for the PS3. If you want a great game system with an awesome online experience then go for the XBOX 360. Now with cons, obviously the biggest con the XBOX has is the failure rate. Now that doesn't mean that your XBOX is going to fail (mine hasn't) but I have friends who have had to get theirs repaired. Also XBOX uses a DVD drive not a Blu-Ray drive but if you don't have an HDTV or plan on buying Blu -Ray movies then this doesn't matter now does it? I was able to configure my external hard drive to the XBOX and the PS3 but I can't transfer anything from it to the XBOX. I can only stream it but the PS3 does allow me to transfer stuff to it's hard drive. However the PS3 is not escaping, the biggest con I have with the system is the installation of games. It should be completely optional. I should not have to waste hard drive space just because Sony has made it mandatory, period. When you download stuff like demos and videos to the PS3 it takes freaking forever because they use big ass files, the XBOX doesn't seem to take half as long. Also the PS3 has features that you will probably never use like "Home". "Home" is a crock of shit and it's still in beta form. The "Internet Browser" and "Internet Search" are not all they're cracked up to be and I'd say stick with your computer when you want to browse the Internet. "Life with Playstation" is a waste of space and should done away with. Better yet they should let me get rid of the whole "Network" icon as it is just a waste of space for me.

As far as games don't look at the multiplatform games look at the exclusives. Unfortunately the amount of actual good exclusives on both systems you could probably count on both hands so your best bet is to go to the local "Gamestop" or what ever your favorite game retailer is and look at the games to see what you're interested in. If you are in to shooters then honestly your best bet is XBOX because they play better on XBOX thanks to the controller. If you like RPGs then pick the PS3. Sports and Action/Adventure are the same on both systems. Fighters, it depends on what type of controller you want to use. The XBOX 360 controller is not made for Fighters (especially 2D fighters) but I have a "Fight Pad" that works around that. In fact you're better off getting a "Fight Pad" or a "Fight Stick" for both systems because the PS3 controller isn't great for Fighters either. There you have it. An actual unbiased opinion from a "gamer" with both systems. My XBOX does get more play time from me but that's because I have more games for it while I have only two games at the moment for PS3. However my PS3 gets a lot of play time as a Blu-Ray/DVD player.

OK well if you do have large hands then the xbox controller is better because it too is also large. I have small hands (not girly hands ) and maybe thats why i prefer the PS3 controller. Saying that i do have a friend who has ENORMOUS hands and he has a PS3, and i've never heard a complaint from him.

You're going to have to explain to me what you mean by this, because I've honestly no clue

I will admit though, the car list for GT4 is EXTREMELY impressive. I just like the way the cars drive in Forza more than GT, 'tis all.

Pop-ups are when you're looking out in the distance and see nothing but open space but then suddenly graphics like a tree or a building just "pop-up" out of nowhere. It has to do with how far or how short the draw distance in the game is.

Thank you! I've seen this ALOT in Forza 2, but I've yet to see it in Forza 3. Although I don't personally own the game, I have played through the career quite a bit with my best friend, and neither of us has seen anything resembling it as of yet.
