I must preface it with this.. (As I saw it firsthand)
Julius Erving [pre NBA] -- that's right when he was with the ABA Nets. His big afro days. -- I saw him dunk against George Gervin (of the San Antonio Spurs) and Artis Gilmore (of the Kentucky Colonels) back when the Nets played at the Nassau Coliseum. He did put on an amazing show.
That said. Who's second? ... well that North Carolina Tar Heel. Michael Jordan is probabaly the next best. And he did it against Patrick Ewing of the Knicks at the Garden many times. (as shown in Dirk's post above)
