I agree that voting for a member on the basis that they're your "friends" shouldn't be the way to go about conducting your vote. But I'll say it again, there is no way that anyone could go about conducting the voting system without some element of bias coming into it. It says right in the original rules of the thread that you should vote specifically for the member you feel deserves to be named MOTW, so people know how they should be voting. But, just because one person states within their voting post that the particular member is their "friend" doesn't nullify it - even if it should be frowned upon - because who knows, maybe they truly believe that person deserves it. As I can not prove otherwise, the vote stands.

As you feel so strongly about it take the thread off of my hands and run it how you would like it to be run. I only took it over as a favour to Bodie - but I would be more than welcome to hand it over because quite frankly I'm bored with it.

There's no reason to have a voting in the first place if it isn't conducted seriously. Voting for your pixelated friends is futile. I won't waste my energy on this ridiculous thread anymore.

I don't know why you're taking it so seriously? It means absolutely nothing.

But anyway, this is how the thread has always run. Members vote for those they get along with on the board and while I do agree that having the same nominations over and over does make it somewhat repetitive and arbitrary - that's just the way it has always run. I wouldn't know how you could even go about changing that. You can't stop a person nominating for whoever they want to just because you don't believe they deserve to be nominated.

Who here is in the position to judge who is "worthy" of the nomination and who isn't?

But, your wish is my command.

As long as nominations for MOTW are based on personal likings rather than achievement, please don't accept nominations for me. I don't want to condone this farce.
