Of course this excuse always sounded lame, but C did discuss new sites in one or two of her chats last March or so and then it all just fizzled out and she announced it was put off for the time being. From all this I assumed that possibly the relationship between CWH and C had broken down in some way, but a year later and she is still on the site, so they continue to work together. They obviously know she is their star...and she knows. Just look at what is charged for her in the private or VIP chats. And in the forum her threads get far more hits than any of the other 50 or so models, including the popular Giselle.
So, I agree in part with your scenario, but possibly rather than 'anonymity', I suspect C is just as not as motivated as, say Giselle. She seems content with the sucess she has and the revenue she receives from it. I agree not all models on the internet necessarily want to be an international success or a 'household' name. Some people earlier in the thread were questioning why Carmen was not a huge internet star, and I have a theory as to why not - she doesn't want to be one. If they started doing professional shoots, getting into mags and other sites, and opening their own site, they would risk exposure. That's interesting shoryuken, not many people in these forums take the time to discuss these things. I personally think you are on to a part of the situation...and I have thought a lot about it too. But Carmen was close to having her own site a 18 months ago. It was via CWH as Giselle's is now...there was a domain and the beginnings of a site, but then it all went haywire and the excuse put forward was that the guy who owned the domain name left CWH and took it. Of course this excuse always sounded lame, but C did discuss new sites in one or two of her chats last March or so and then it all just fizzled out and she announced it was put off for the time being. From all this I assumed that possibly the relationship between CWH and C had broken down in some way, but a year later and she is still on the site, so they continue to work together. They obviously know she is their star...and she knows. Just look at what is charged for her in the private or VIP chats. And in the forum her threads get far more hits than any of the other 50 or so models, including the popular Giselle.
So, I agree in part with your scenario, but possibly rather than 'anonymity', I suspect C is just as not as motivated as, say Giselle. She seems content with the sucess she has and the revenue she receives from it. I agree not all models on the internet necessarily want to be an international success or a 'household' name. But both our theories point in the same direction - that C is not a huge star because she wants it that way. I don't buy the speculation that CWH has been keeping her down. Surely they haven't helped - they would lose their cash cow if C took off in a big way. The bottom line, though, is that she could have quite the career if she wanted to, with or without CWH's help.

As to why she's been appearing less and less could have any number of explanations. Perhaps she truly is motivated - to be something else, like a nurse (mmmm...nurse carmen).

I guess we'll never know the full story unless we sat C down for an interview, but it's an interesting and puzzling situation nonetheless. Since we're going with theories:

That's interesting that the "false starts" were actually orchestrated by CWH. That means these weren't attempts by Carmen to launch a bigger career, but really just promos for CWH and sister sites. This is further evidence that C has no or little interest in a larger career in the glamour/adult industry.

So whatever the reason or reasons C may have - fear of exposure, motivation, soured professional relationships, possible husband or even kids - it seems safe to say she is not interested in a big career. Damn...the vid's already been taken down. Somebody checks this thread daily. Vid posters need to find a foreign site where they don't care about no stinkin' take-down notices. I've never seen a site protect their content so zealously, it's like they hired scientologists. And it's futile. You have content that's in very high demand - you can find it easily if you know your way around the internet and Google. I'm still at a loss as to why they don't just sell the damn shows.

As for the non-compete clauses, I don't think they're holding back any girl from jumping ship. First, I'm very surprised these girls would even be under contract. Even if they were, non-compete clauses are notoriously difficult to enforce. And in the rare situations they are enforced, usually some fee is payed to the plaintiff, which is almost always paid by the company that poached the employee anyway, not by the employee herself (whose pockets are deeper?). Eh it had a little to do with our break up due to the fact that Abbie purchased the domain name before I was suppose to get it to gain leverage against me. She knew what was coming. And just to clear things up a little, despite what you may hear about how I'm such a horrible guy, and I steal, and lie, etc. the real reason she left CWH was because I banned her for being a cumpulsive liar. She lied about a lot of things. Much of what she lied about was the person she was. To make a long story short she basically faked being someone entirely different than who she actually was. Yes, she likes to start rumors or overexagerate things. There's no financial improprieties and I'm not under "investigation" unless "investigation" = audit. I was audited for the tax year 05 because I earned a significant more amount of money in 05 than I did in 04 due to the fact that CWH started in 05. Millions of people get audited...it's not going to hurt the business whatsoever.
