Now then, what's your favourite car, bike etc, chase in a film. For me there are quite a few, but I would have to go for Arnie and John Conner on the bike in T2 or Jason Bourne in the Mini in The Bourne Identity.
magnum opus

Got 2 Both bike chases rather than car involved
At #1 Matrix Reloaded
At #2 MI:2 (Mission Impossible 2)

the reference is bullit when steve mac queen in his 1968 ford mustang gt chases the bandits in their 1968 black jewel charger r/t
another great car chases are canonball and vanishing point.
all those films are films from the60's -70's

I can't pick just one,but I narrowed it down to four:
Bullitt(as georges mentioned)
Gone In 60 Seconds (not the crap with Nicolas Cage;the original 1974 version)
The French Connection
The Blues Brothers-okay,I know it's not realistic,but it's funny,and fun to watch.
I'm sure I'll think of more later, but that's all I got for now....

i thought one of the coolest was Bad boys 2. it doesnt live up to reloaded or Ronin. But it had some moments where it was like .. whoa! but thats the only thing i can come up with at the moment.

I thought the chase scenes in Taxi were pretty sweet! That movie kicks ass - I bought Taxi 2 today (found it cheap in the sales!) but I haven't had the chance to watch it yet... All in good time :)

I would´nt say it´s the best carchase ever, but there´s a brilliant one in William Friedkins 80´s copmovie "To live and die in L.A.".
Same league as French connection and Bullitt.

BT is really good, but the guy looks goofy in his new album. But his latest Emotional Technology, great album. I recommend it for those who listen to techno.

lol! Do you mean the one with him on the front cover dressed in white with poncey bleached hair? What's he like eh!
There's only one song he produced which I don't like... and that was "Before The Goodbye" by Britney Spears - But that's only 'cause I think the song was crap, which wasn't anything to do with him. I prefer his own stuff anyway.

Right mate, bollocks to the idea of 'techno', Oakie was NEVER aboot Techno. Oakie = Trance. ANYONE who has ever seen him play can tell you it was all aboot the trance.
IN FACT - I claim myself as Freeones Trance Expert and if anyone wants to know where thay can get a set or whatever then contact me via PM because I love/live the shit. Ask Optimus Mike!!! But I wont be around for much longer so dont be shy. Anyhow, general questions, if they are posted in this thread or sent to me via PM will be answered ASAP, so please bear that in mind.
PS Dont fucking bother asking for trance remixes of Madonna or shite like that because my generousity only reaches to certain boundaries!!!!
Geyser
01-02-2004, 11:44 PM
what? he produced a britney spears song?
And yes, you are right felthat Oakland is a trance DJ. Yet my fav from his latest album Great Wall is "Reqium For A Dream," atm but theres so much more from that album that are so good.

He did indeed, and more famously an N'Sync song (which was released as a single). I wouldn't say it was his best work, but they still have that pollished gleaminess to them that BT does so well. Oh, I don't own the N'Sync CD incase any of you were thinking that. I'd be lying if I said I didn't own the Britney Spears CD though...

The fact that I own a Britney Spears CD?! lol
I'm only messin' - I know what you mean, and I wasn't too chuffed when I was informed that the N'Sync song was produced by BT (I seem to remember it even had someone, maybe even Brian himself, saying 'BT' at the beginning and at the end). I guess it was only a matter of time though, seeing as his music covers all genres pretty much.
But if you think about it, Paul Oakenfold did the same thing when he released those pretty poor rap tracks (Starry-eye surprise... or something) a few years back.

I have to get back to you on that georges. I'm more involved with the imports scene and don't mess with most muscle cars while driving my gti. Its a turbocharged vr6. I want to twin charge it but can't throw another 10000 bucks away.
I think lotto jackpot is pretty high this week maybe I'll buy a ticket. It could change my mind. Cheers.

hi sinner:)
i really love the golf vr6, little bomb and very fast for its size.
I have heard that peak hp with a vr6 was 425hp.Abt made some souped up vr6 golfs and ventos, they could reach the 145mph and did the 1/4 mile in the low 13's.

beautiful car. here in the states it has the image if the older guy's car. i tried to take one while ago but the dude gave up, i guess he wasn't into street racing :D
georges
01-07-2004, 11:25 AM
maybe he wasn't enough good to smash down the accelerator :D
I would have smashed the accelerator till i see the speedo hand reaching its maximum speed 180mph but before that i would have made a burnout like in fast and furious 1 when vin diesel burnouts his 70 hemi blowered charger and then giving full throttle and then turning on the blower at full power.
real crazy car was this charger. give me this vette and you will see how a leadfoot i am.

K georges, I asked my friend today about his car. It's '69 camaro ss with some very custom engine: 540 cubic inches. He claims the car does 1/4 mile in 9.4 sec. I find this a little hard to believe but I guess I'll never know. Tons of cash and a lot of time to build it tho. Looks and sounds very mean. What do you drive georges?
georges

Bad Boys 2 has couple of very nice car chases
You can see a part of the first chase in this trailer:

Hi makev80, B B2 was an excellent movie. I can see a lot of people arguing about being the best, but it was without doubt one of the best. I enjoyed every second of it.
Hey georges, I suggest you see "Torque". Looks phat. I'm going to c it tomorrow. Will let you know what I think.

Torque looks weak and too fake IMO from the previews, to my knowledge it was also delayed from last year. I also did not care for Biker Boyz nor 2 Fast 2 Furious, I like the cars however, but not the movie itself, bad story.
I liked the chase in Terminator 3 though, and also The matrix reloaded.

When it comes to bike and car movies I don't really care much about the plot...like they say in this kind of movies the cars are the real stars and I couldn't agree more. I have a race heart and simple street race its a big thrill for me. Something like one night stand
