WOW, looks great, can't wait for it to come out. I really enjoyed the first one, a great adaptation of the comic book.

I'm glad Toby got to play Spider-Man again. I heard talk a while ago that the producers were going to cut him out and ask Jake Gyllenhaal (they look similar) because Toby hurt his back in a motorcycle accident. It would have been a shame, I thought Toby was great in the first film.

I remember that rumor too. I don't think I've ever seen Jake G. in a movie before, but the idea of replacing the main actor sounded really bad to me. I liked Maguire's performance in the original, and I'm hoping the sequel's just as good. :)
So let's all pray that the Spider-Man franchise evolves the way the X-Men one has (sequel being better than the original), instead of following the path of the Batman flicks (sequels much worse than original). :D

What the hell does you couldn't finish the first one mean? Your post makes absolutely no sense.

Probably means he found it so boring he actually left the theater before the movie was over. Or, more likely, that he tried to watch it on DVD but stopped watching at some point prior to the film's conclusion. :)

I've always thought the strength of the bad guy plays a huge role in the quality of a series such as this. Willem Dafoe was good in the 1st movie... I see they've got Alfred Molina for this one. I've liked Alfred Molina in every movie I've seen him in, but I don't think I've ever seen him play the "arch enemy" type. Hopefully, he's well cast for this role and the writing gives him something to chew on, because I've always thought he's an underrated actor, or as they call them in Hollywood, a good character actor, lol.

well im all alone here obviously.....i hated spiderman...thought the story was crap...and the green goblins outfit was just feckin stupid...
i love the comics...and more over i love the cartoons that used to keep me gettin up early in the morning and not late for work/school/college! but i just hated this....i found the story to be to narrow and boring...tho i never really liked the green goblin as a charactor....i dont mind dr octapus but the best story in spiderman was defo Venom/Carnage which i hear they are doing in Spiderman3 (clever people working on the whole '3' idea!) and to be honest....im not looking forward to actually...i hope they all have really bad accidents and are 'unable' to do it.....its all gonna be CGI!!!!! and the CGI in the first spiderman sucked absolute ass....they over used...even in parts where they didnt need to...for example when spidey first climbs up the wall....jesus!...the orginal TV series of batman where they would walk along the floor and then tip the camara sideways to film it, looked way betta then that piece of shit
sorry i hate CGI...a film should be supported by CGI and not based on CGI (spiderman and star wars episode 1 and 2 are perfect examples!) bring back pupetry and animatronics i say!...theres only a few special effects guys out there that can really do CG so people LEAVE IT TO THEM!

Silitits my man, where do you get your info man??
Sam Raimi said he has no intentions in bringing the characters Venom and Carnage to the screen, because it would be too complicated. He wants these movies to be reality based. Surprising, I would have to disagree with everything you said, you obviously have no imagination whatsoever. I would serously hate to sit next to you and watch a movie. I bet every other word would be, OMG you can so tell that shit is fake! Blah!
Doesn't really surprise me though, considering you like silicone over the real thing. Define irony??
Plus how else are they suppossed to get Spider-Man to do all the moves he does, they have no choice but to do it CGI

I must have seen Alfred Molina in more than one movie, but whenever I hear his name the performance that springs to mind is his scene in Boogie Nights: the fatally botched "drug" deal. I also look forward to seeing what he does with the Dr. Octopus role.
As for Spider-Man 3, I thought I'd heard that Sam Raimi would leave the franchise after the second movie? Sort of like Tim Burton did with Batman.....so maybe Joel Schumacher can take over as director. ;)

NO NO NO, Sam Raimi said he will do at least one more
Spider-Man film, which is already being developed I believe. All of the actors signed up for 3 films as well, plus if you were Sam Raimi, would you give up the biggest franchise in film history. The buzz on part 2 is huge already, and its still 7 months away!! Think about it people, don't believe every damn thing you read.
Keyword - I THOUGHT I HEARD, if its not on IMDB.com or Rotten Tomatoes, then its bullshit.
If he does leave after the 3rd one, perhaps james Cameron can take over, since he wanted to do Spider-Man in the first place.

errr...to be honest scorp i cant remember where i saw it....and they could easily of done spidermans moves without CGI.....blue screens....stunts.....animatronics.....CGI is the lazy way...i like things to look believeable...and the main reason why i hated spiderman was the story not the CG....with regards to joel...hell i think he might do ok on spiderman!.....he only messed up batman because of the addiction to neon lighting!!! LOL.....but i know for a fact he doesnt like CGI i heard it out of the horses mouth on an interview

Hey I have nothing against Joel Schumacher as a director, and i actually enjoyed Batman Forever, the thing that ruioned batman & Robin was Ahnuld's overacting, and Clooney's lack of effort, which he even admitted he messed up the movie not Schumacher.
I seriously doubt Schumacher would want to tackle yet another comic book hero series, as we all know Spider-man is a more beloved character than Batman. Like i mentioned bring in Cameron, who needs a new film anyway since Titanic (Ghosts of the Abyss don't count)

Schumacher has made some pretty compelling dramas and comedies (see: "St. Elmos Fire," "Tigerland" and "Flawless").
I guess he just gets pigeonholed because of the Batman bombs and the critical panning his "8mm" took.
In case y'all didn't know, 8mm was accused of being a rip-off of Paul Schrader's 1970's thriller "Hardcore"...which it was, to some extent. "Hardcore" revolved around someone like Donald Pleasance searching for his missing daughter amongst the "grimy porn/snuff underworld". Beyond their subject matter, the two films shared very little in common, though.
Many people thought 8mm sucked, but you have to take into consideration all the godforsaken re-writes the studio had the writers do. And Joel certainly can't be blamed on any accounts, as this project would have looked appealing to almost anybody: Then-hot screenwriter Andrew Kevin Walker (who had scored big with David Fincher's "Se7en" and made a name for himself with some interesting b-grade chillers, including the Silverstone-Sisto flop "Hideaway") as scribe and Nicolas Cage & Joaquin Phoenix attached to star? Shit, I'd pluck out all the hairs on my ass for an opportunity to make a movie with that sorta crew.
Anyway, as for Spiderman 2, lemme paraphrase Randy from the Scream movies (at the risk of seeming cliche): "I'll wait for video."

Ok where did you copy and paste this entire paragraph from, no way a new yorker is that informative about movies??

Actually, it was George C. "Patton" Scott who starred in Hardcore. So if lex did a cut-and-paste, he either altered the original to read "someone like Donald Pleasance" to fool us, or he copied from an unreliable source. ;)
"Patton" was, you'll recall, co-written by Francis Ford Coppola, for which he received an Oscar - one of 7 awarded to the film, also including Best Picture, Best Actor (Scott), and Best Director (Franklin Schaffner). This was an early triumph for Coppola, but soon he would find even greater success as the director of such acclaimed films as "The Godfather," "The Godfather, Part II," and "The Conversation." Sadly, his career seems to have peaked in the 1970s, as recent decades have included such Coppola-helmed flops as "One From the Heart," "Jack," and "The Godfather, Part III"........ :D
So, uhhh, how about that new Spider-Man movie!
