Okay, so I have a subscription to a site and want to download the videos. which file type has better quality? is there a difference? thanks in advance.

Assuming you know what you are doing, wmv should always give better quality/file size ratio. Especially Windows Media 9.
However, MPEG1 files are playable on virtually any platform without any additional codecs needed.
Also, bad conversion skills can make even the best format look like crap.
If you don't care much about platform/OS compatibility, use wmv. If you want the files to be most compatible, use MPG.
***mpeg4 files have excellant quality, but the file sizes are very large.
how do you convert a WMV file so that it can be burnt onto a DVD?
Any help would be great....

yes they do - they don't play in the browser, you have to download them and then use quicktime to open them. you also need the .wmv extension to open them in quicktime, but THEY DO WORK ON MACS.

:wtf: That's absolutely wrong.
The link below, used to anyway, allow a free download that opens WMV directly in QuickTime with the QT interface. I DLed it a year ago when it was free.... looking at the DL page today it looks a bit different...
